The most technical project I was responsible for internally at Under Canvas was the ReCirc Pump. This was a device that sensed the temperature, switched a solenoid valve, and turned on a propane heater. This was a system which supported our off grid accommodations. Many of the camps experienced freezing temperatures at night and this was our solution. Running on a 12v battery, the device included a custom PCB, an Arduino Nano, and hand soldered + assembled components. This device was desined and manufactured in house and over 100 units were deployed into the field. This project helped buffer the shoulder season visitation at Under Canvas and produced real value in the form of longer stays and open rooms.
